The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) conducted a workshop in relation to its Greening Disaster Risk Reduction project which benefits flood-prone areas of the province, according to Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (PDRRMO) Anthony Damalerio on Sept. 27, 2022.

He said the Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment/ Participatory Planning Workshop was participated in by representatives from barangays Bonkokan Ubos, Lila, Manaba, Garcia-Hernandez and Valladolid in Loboc.

Moreover, Damalerio said that these said barangays are known to be flood-prone even before the pandemic.

He said the PDRRMO and the Bohol Environmental Management Office (BEMO) recommended the inclusion of the said barangays in the nature-based, climate-change mitigation program.

Meanwhile; the PDRRMO and Alternatives to Development Inc. (A2D) conducted geo-tagging and data collection of critical infrastructures in the town of Pres. Carlos P. Garcia this morning for resource mapping and updating of the disaster management database.

The data collected will be used by the PDRRMO to make it easier to respond to disaster situations such as floods and typhoons, Damalerio added.
