Top pulmonologist believes most doctors frown at removal of vax card requirement
Top pulmonologist Dr. Bryan Cepedoza believes that most doctors don’t agree at the move to remove the requirement among travelers to show their vaccination card when entering Bohol.
He aired his statement regarding this issue during a radio interview over Open Forum on Sept. 27, 2022, hosted by Dave Albarado.
He said the time is not right to remove the requirement of showing proof of vaccination prior to entry into the province.
It can be remembered that Gov. Aris Aumentado issued an executive order which no longer requires asymptomatic travelers to present their vaccination cards at the point of entry.
Only those travelers showing symptoms will be asked to show a proof of vaccination against
Coronavirus disease (Covid) prior to entry into Bohol.
Cepedoza thinks the Covid situation remains a huge problem and further relaxing the entry protocol into Bohol may lead to problems like possible exposure of the vulnerable sectors to the virus from travelers.
“Sa side sa mga doctor, dili kinahanglan mag ing-ana kay bisan pa asymptomatic ka then naa ka anang kagawa,
maka-infect gihapon na sya,” the doctor explained.
He said it would be prudent for authorities to still demand the presentation of the vaccination card from a traveler who wishes to enter Bohol.
He said those who may be unvaccinated and asymptomatic could end up spreading the Covid virus and put the vulnerable sectors in peril.
The vulnerable sectors are senior citizens and those with comorbidities or are immunocompromised.
Moreover, the new rules may provide a wrong impression to people that getting vaccinated is no longer necessary because one can enter Bohol even without a vaccination card as long as no symptoms are exhibited.
“So dili ta ganahan ingon ana nga style, so sa side sa among mga doctor syempre dili mi happy anang pamalaod,” he stressed.
