PAGASA warns of typhoons hitting CV, neighboring areas in the last months of 2022

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned the public that based on historical and climatological data, there is a huge possibility that the typhoons that will form during the last remaining months of the year will hit Central Visayas or places near the region.

This is the pronouncement of Ariel Abalos of PAGASA Dauis during a radio interview over Newsmakers Ug Uban Pa on Oct. 3, 2022 hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.

“Mao ni ang bantayan nato sa pagkakaron kay mao ni ang bulan nga kasagaran ang bagyo mutama dire sa Central Visayas ug sa northern part sa Mindanao ug southern part sa Luzon. Kasagaran ani ang mga track sa bagyo ug kusug kusug mga bagyo base sa mga data,” Abalos said.

Bohol is part of Central Visayas and could also be affected by weather disturbances affecting the southern part of Luzon and northern portion of Mindanao.

The PAGASA expects two to four typhoons or tropical depressions to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility in October, Abalos said.

Meanwhile, Abalos said that the state weather bureau sees no possibility of any huge weather disturbance hitting Bohol and the rest of the Visayas.

There would be only localized thunderstorms brought about by the Intertropical Convergence Zone.
