The local government unit (LGU) of Tagbilaran provided tuition subsidies to 300 city scholars studying in various schools in the city.
Reports say that the 300 scholars attended an activity held inside the Saulog gymnasium on Oct. 1, 2022 to receive their subsidies. Each scholar was given P10,000 as subsidy.
So far, since the implementation of the program by former Mayor John Geesnell Yap and carried on by Mayor Jane Yap, there have been 3,000 beneficiaries of the program.
The LGU is committed to help poor but deserving students to reach their goals and finish their studies, the reports say.
