Tagb LGU provides subsidies to city scholars

The local government unit (LGU) of Tagbilaran City provided tuition subsidies to 300 city scholars studying in various institutions in the city.

Reports say that the 300 scholars attended an activity held inside the Saulog gymnasium on Oct. 1, 2022 to receive their subsidies.

Each scholar was given P10,000 as subsidy.

So far, since the implementation of the program by former Mayor John Geesnell Yap and carried on by Mayor Jane Yap, there have been 3,000 beneficiaries of the program.

The LGU is committed to help poor but deserving students to reach their goals and finish their studies, the reports say.

Aside from Mayor Jane Yap other officials who joined the activity were Barangay Affairs and Constituency Unit Head Alvin Acuzar, Sangguniang Kabataan Federated President Jose Floro Ringca, and City Councilor Nick Besas.

They congratulated the scholars for their achievements.

Moreover, three former scholars were honored for their achievement in the Criminology Licensure Examinations.

The former scholars are Rizalee Rose Sempron, Mae Armachuelo, and Jason Abadiano. They were given certificates of recognition.

A student can access the tuition and fees subsidy by approaching the BACU to get information on how to apply, the report mentions.
