Lila mayor Arturo Jed Piollo, in a post on social media, reported that the relic of St. Titus Brandsma is visiting his town.

According to the mayor the relic will be placed at the Carmelite Monastery, starting today Oct. 17, 2022 to Oct. 19, 2022.

St. Titus Brandsma was a priest and a professor and died during World War 2.

He suffered under the Nazi regime’s hands as he opposed the inhuman policies of Germany’s Third Reich against the Jews.

The mayor said the saint is an inspiration to all people.

“He is a model and an inspiration for truth and love. A beacon of hope in these trying times,” the mayor added in his post.
