<strong>BM Damalerio mulls creation of climate change panel in SP</strong>

Board member Aldner Damalerio said he is proposing for the creation of a Climate Change committee at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP).

He mentioned this during a radio interview over Newsmakers ug Uban Pa on Oct. 20, 2022 hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.

Moreover, he said that he is looking at the proposed committee to be included in the regular standing committee of the provincial board.

Damalerio said that climate change is a pressing issue which needs to get proper focus. I fact, he added, the administration of President Marcos provides proper attention to this problem.

In the House of Representatives, Cong. Edgar Chatto heads the Climate Change Committee where it focuses on issues and plans that could mitigate the change in the climate.

It is said that the Philippines is the fourth most vulnerable nation in terms of climate change.

Damalerio said that he is working to have the approval of his colleagues in the establishment of the said proposed committee at the SP.
