Wisdom Tooth Problems and Treatment (Part 4)
Allow me to talk about the types of impaction involving wisdom tooth.
There are several types of wisdom tooth impaction. The first is when the tooth is partially impacted.
It is possible that the tooth has partially emerged.
A fully impacted tooth which happens to be below the gumline and cannot emerge at all, may be causing damage to other teeth as a result.
The impacted tooth might grow at an angle moving to the back of the mouth.
The impacted tooth might grow at an angle towards a second molar.
The impacted tooth might grow straight up or down like normal teeth, however, most of these may stay trapped within the jawbone.
The impacted tooth might grow at an angle relative to the second molar, as if it’s lying down within the jawbone.
We will continue our discussion of the wisdom tooth in our next column.
