New BPPO chief takes helm of prov. police force

The new chief of the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) took the helm of the provincial police force on Oct. 28, 2022, 

Reports say that Col. Lorenzo Batuan who used to be deputy director of BPPO back in 2016, is now the new BPPO chief as he replaces Col. Osmundo Salibo who is set to retire in November 2022, the reports add.

The turnover of command was held at Camp Osmeña, Cebu City with Police Regional Office-7 (PRO-7) chief Brig. Gen. Roderick Alba issuing the directive naming Batuan as the new BPPO chief.

The order took effect on Oct. 21, 2022 based on the information obtained by The Bohol Tribune.

Lt. Col. Joseph Berondo confirmed the new order issued by Alba in an interview over Open Forum on Oct. 26, 2022. 

Salibo will be reassigned to the PRO-7 until his retirement next month.
