Cecilia Araneta-Burns, a retired public school teacher of Poblacion, Dauis, Bohol before she used to work as an activity director in one of the outfits in the USA, passed away on October 26, 2022. She was 77 years old.She is survived by her husband, Victor Burns (an American) and daughter Virginia Burns who is presently working as a nurse in Florida, USA.
Cecilia is the sister of the late Cebu City media personality Raul Araneta; broadcaster, Teofredo “Fred” Araneta who passed away last September 12, 2022; Ardy Araneta-Batoy, another broadcaster who is the Managing Editor of The Bohol Tribune and member of its editorial board; Gloria Leodivica Ines Araneta, another media person, professor of the University of Bohol and Director of “SMILE”, Philippines.
Right now, the remains of Cecilia lie in state at her residence at Purok 3, Penales St. (Kaipusan), Poblacion, Dauis, Bohol.
Cecilia will be laid to her final rest at the Dauis (Poblacion) Cemetery on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022 after the 2:00 p.m. Christian services at her residence.
