NMP starts work on Balilihan’s Rizal Park restoration

The National Museum of the Philippines (LMP) has started the restoration work on Balilinan town’s Rizal Park, according to Mayor Pureza Chatto and Vice Mayor Trisha Chatto.

The mayor and vice mayor revealed the information in a post on social media on Nov. 2, 2022.

It can be recalled that the NMP and the local government unit of Balilihan signed a memorandum of agreement back in April 2022 where the former undertakes the restoration of Plaza Rizal and the old Municipal Hall of the said town.

The plaza and the old town hall have been declared as important cultural properties as mandated by the National Heritage Act of 2009.

Reports reveal that around P11 million in funds is being earnarked for the restoration projects in Balilihan.

Aside from the old town hall and Plaza Rizal, the NMP also spent on the restoration of the Balilihan Belfry and Watchtower.
