The president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP)-Bohol chapter and Buenavista mayor Dave Duallo, hails the success of his townmate in the recent physician licensure examinations.
In a statement, Duallo said that the achievement of Dr. Mark Duavis of barangay Cangawa is laudible.
Duallo said that Duavis is set to receive a cash incentive coming from the Buenavista local government unit.
Moreover, Duallo said Duavis made history as the first person from Buenavista who landed in the top 10 of the physician licensure examinations conducted in October 21, 22, 28, and 29, 2022.
Duavis is a product of the public school system in Buenavista and is a licensed nurse who obtained his nursing education at the University of Bohol.
For his part, Duavis in a radio interview, said he worked hard to achieve success and prepared himself well in order to perform optimally during the examinations.
Duavis, 31, finished his nursing course through a scholarship of the Department of Health as he was also a government scholar who finished his medical degree at the University of Cebu College of Medicine Foundation Inc. in Mandaue City.
He said that he is willing to serve the community by providing health care to rural residents.
The new doctor said that he is ready to become a doctor to the barrio.
“I am very much willing and I’m open to…kanang… helping other people. Akong isukli, ihatag nako ang unsay gihatag ninyo sa akoa kay di man gyud ni nako makab-ot kon wala ang tabang sa mga katawhan kay pinaagi sa inyong tax mao man nag sustento sa akua for 5 years nako pag-eskwela sa medisina. It is just proper nga isukli nako sa ilaha kon unsa ang gihatag nako,”he said.
Duavis can’t still believe that he managed to emerge as a topnotcher.
Duavis graduated as validictorian at Cangawa Elementary and Cangawa High School.
