<strong>UB alumnus gets chosen as member of Canadian conservation group</strong>

Paul Emerson Salinas Almontero, an alumnus of the University of Bohol (UB) -Teachers’ College, was chosen and given funding by the Canadian Wildlife Federation and the Federal Government of Canada as member of conservation corps group (Spring/ Summer 2022 Cohort),

The said group is tasked to conduct a mission to do research and conservation works; and preserve the natural resources of Canada.

He is the only Asian and native Filipino member of the said conservation group, a report from the UB said.

Almontero worked as a licensed Child Development Supervisor in Calgary, Canada, prior to his appointment to the said group.

He finished his Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEEd) Summa Cum Laude in March 2014 and passed the Philippine Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) as a 9th placer.

As a campus figure, he was chosen as Region 7’s Finalist of the 2014 Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP), 2013 National Awardee of Jose Rizal Model Student, and 2012 National Awardee of the Bank of the Philippine Islands.

He served twice as an International Ambassador representing the Philippines to Japan and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries, in 2013 and again in 2016.

Moreover, Almontero was a resident of Catigbian, Bohol, prior to his immigration to Canada, reports bare.
