Tagb police chief sees no imminent bomb threat in Tagb.

The chief of the Tagbilaran City Police Station (TCPS) sees no imminent bomb threat here and says that the probability of terrorist attacks here is “zero”.

This is the assessment of Lt. Col. Regie Real in a radio interview on Nov. 16, 2022 over Newsmakers ug Uban Pa radio program hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.

She said that based on her assessment, there is zero chance a bomb threat will happen in Tagbilaran City anytime soon.

Despite the low probability of a bomb threat, the TCPS, together with other first responders, regularly conduct simulation exercises to sharpen skills and improve response times when there are emergencies such as a bomb threat.

It can recalled that on Nov. 14, 2022, the TCPS led a simulation exercise to practice response moves when there is a bomb threat alert hoisted in Tagbilaran City.

Moreover, Real said that more simulation exercises will be conducted in the future to practice other kinds of emergency situations like hostage taking, among others.

The last time Tagbilaran City faced a real bomb threat situation was in 2017 when an unknown caller warned that a bomb was placed inside a hospital in the city.

After a thorough search, the police found no evidence of a bomb inside the hospital but the patients and hospital staff were evacuated to safety which caused a huge traffic jam in downtown Tagbilaran City.
