Prov. agriculturist Liza Quirog finishes CGSC

The serial scholar is at it again.

On November 22, 2022, Bohol Provincial Agriculturist Liza Migriño Quirog went up the stage at the Tejeros Hall of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Commissioned Officers Clubhouse at Camp Gen Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City, to receive her diploma from none other than the Chief of Staff General Bartolome Vicente Bacarro, after she completed the AFP Command and General Staff Course (CGSC).

For this military course, Quirog wrote a Commandant’s Paper entitled “Readiness of the Philippine Army Reserve Force to the Implementation of the AFP Mobilization Plan,” an academic inquest into the capability of our Army’s reserve forces, of which she is an officer, if mobilized to respond to national security threats like war, invasion or rebellion.

Only a little over two years ago, Quirog also completed her degree of Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) from the National Defense College of the Philippines of the Department of National Defense, which allowed her to rise to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Philippine Army’s reserve force. A step forward in her endeavors in the military reserves, the CGSC is a highly selective program offered only to qualified AFP officers – usually in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel – that trains them to be capable to plan, fit to command, and qualified to advise higher units in the military hierarchy and civilian councils, and also enables them to serve as battalion commanders.
