The Sangguniang Panlalawigan is expected to approve the 3.9 billion peso provincial budget for 2023 during its regular session on Nov. 29, 2022.
If the approval pushes through, then, the appropriation measure will be passed ahead of Christmas time.
It is reported that the SP is done with the marathon budget hearings involving several departments of the provincial government.
Reports say that the budgets of some departments need to be realigned as the proposed budget in 2023 was reduced by 8 percent compared to 2022’s budget.
The reduction in the National Tax Allocation is the main reason the budget in 2023 is lower than 2022.
