A Boholano reached anew the summit of Philippine literature when he received awards for his literary works.

Ramil Digal Gulle, Boholano, won the first prize for his poetry anthology in English called Bol-anon Prodigal.

Journalist Ven rebo Arigo managed to connect with Gulle who traces his roots in Bohol and who visited the province only last May.

The Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature is the pinnacle of literature awards and known as the local version of the Pulitzer Prize.

The awards recognized the best literary works during an event on Nov. 30, 2022 at Marquis Events Place at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.

This is the second time Gulle won a Palanca Award. He is a content director in a public relations company and an alumnus of the University of Santo Tonas.

In a chat with Gulle, he said that he was born in Manila but his mother is from Batuan and his father is from Candijay. He speaks fluent Visayan, English and
Tagalog.

Moreover, Gulle first bagged the Palanca Award as First Prize Winner in Poetry in 1996.
