<strong>Crime incidences decline by 5.24% in Central Visayas says the PRO7</strong>

The Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) announced a drop in crime incidents in Central Visayas by 5.24%.

Based on data, the total crime incidence in 2022 is about 37,444 or 2,070 crimes less recorded in 2021 within Central Visayas. The data is from Jan. to Nov. 2022.

There are about 21,171 crimes committed that caused problems to peace and order where 21,033 were already cleared giving the police in Central Visayas a crime clearance efficiency of 99.35%. 

A crime is considered cleared when at least one of the suspects has been identified and a complaint has been filed against the suspect regardless of the arrest status.

Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba acknowledged the efforts of his personnel in achieving the decline in the crime incidents.

“I lauded my men for their continued hard work and dedication and for making the community and the public feel safe.”

He assured the public that the region’s police continue to employ innovative approaches to complement and broaden anti-criminality efforts and campaigns.
