GCGMH gets new building

The Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) in Tagbilaran City has opened its new 5-storey building which is another feather in the cap of its medical center chief Dr. Mutya Kismet-Macuno.

The new building was inaugurated on Dec. 9, 2022.

In this light, Cong. Edgar Chatto congratulated GCGMH and Macuno for the latest achievement of the hospital’s Tagbilaran City campus.

It is known that a larger hospital is under construction in Cortes town which enables the medical facility of the government to soon serve more Boholanos.

Chatto and the partnership of GCGMH improves the ability to provide better health services in the province.

“Our strong partnership has made possible the upgrading of the province’s health system through the modernization of Gallares in Tagbilaran and the construction of the multi-specialty medical complex in Cortes,” the congressman said in his post on Facebook.

Moreover, Chatto said that he thanked the Department of Health (DOH) leadership in ensuring GCGMH is able to get ample support from the national government.

“Glad to have graced this occasion with DOH officials led by Usec. Camilo Cascolan, Usec. Charade Grande, HFEP Dir. Leonita Gorgolon and RD Jaime Bernadas especially former DOH Sec. Paulyn Jean Ubial who was also present. We closely worked with her throughout the planning and implementation along with past secretaries Enrique Ona, Janet Garin, Francisco Duque and present OIC Rosario Vergeire.”

It is expected that the 1st phase of GCGMH complex in Cortes will be completed sometime in 2023.
