“Avatar: The Way of Water” at Screenville Cinemas

The highly-anticipated sequel to the highest grossing film of all time from legendary filmmaker James Cameron, “Avatar: The Way of Water” is now showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.     

        The MTRCB rated “Avatar: The Way of Water” with PG (Parental Guidance) where children can watch the film as along as accompanied by parents or elders.  

The film is set more than a decade after the events of the first film where the Sully family — Jake (Sam Worthington), Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), and their kids now settle on the planet of Pandora. A familiar threat returns to finish what their family started, bringing Jake and Neytiri together with the army of the Na’vi race to protect their homeDirected by Academy Award-winning filmmaker James Cameron (“Titanic,” “The Terminator”), “Avatar: The Way of Water” features a stellar ensemble of cast with both new and returning members such as Sigourney Weaver (“Kiri”), Stephen Lang (“Miles Quaritch”), Cliff Curtis (“Tonowari”), Giovanni Ribisi (“Parker Selfridge”), and Kate Winslet (“Ronal”).

Metro Manila Filmfest 2022  at Screenville Cinemas

All is set for the 48th edition of the annual Metro Manila Film Festival, featuring eight official entries which will be shown from December 25, Christmas Day, until January 7, 2023, in theaters nationwide, including Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

       The top three favorite entries which are expected to draw a huge crowd of moviegoers are Vice Ganda’s comedy flick with sexy star Ivana Alawi, “Partners in Crime”; Coco Martin and Jodi Sta. Maria’s romantic-comedy “Labyu with An Accent”; and Nadine Lustre’s techo-thriller “Deleter”.

“Partners in Crimes” is the story of an ex-couple who are brought together when both get involved in a crime; while “Labyu with an Accent” revolves around the story of Gabo (Coco) and Trisha (Jodi) whose backgrounds are entirely different from each another.

“Deleter” follows the story of Lyra (Nadine), an online content moderator who removes violent videos online, and she faces trauma from watching disturbing footages in her job. 

“PARTNERS IN CRIME” is among the eight official entries of the 48th Metro Manila Film Festival which will be shown starting December 25, Christmas Day, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
