Cong, Edgar Chatto facilitated more help for the Tagbilaran fire victims.
According to the congressman, help coming from Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go was provided to the fire victims.
Chatto also facilitated the donation of House speaker Martin Romualdez of congress in the amount of P1 million from the latter’s personal money.
Around 300 individuals were affected by the fire that broke early Friday morning, on Dec. 23, 2022 right there at Gallares street, barangay Poblacion 2 with the cause of the fire still under investigation by the authorities.
The solon said the Department of Social Welfare and Development already extended help to the fire victims.
The victims are asking those who want to donate to provide construction materials so they can rebuild modest houses at a new site provided for them.
Mayor Jane Yap also said that the lot where the fire victims used to live has been condemned and a new site will be provided for them where they can start a new home.
Currently, the victims evacuated to the Poblacion 2 gymnasium as their homes were totally burned to the ground.
