The parish of Our Lady of Lourdes in barangay Poblacion 2, Tagbilaran City supports the concert for a cause aimed at helping the affected families of the huge fire a few days before Christmas Day.
This was revealed by Parish Priest Msgr. Jeffrey Malanog, during a radio interview over Newsmakers ug Uban Pa program on Jan. 2, 2023, hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.
The priest said that the parish supports the activity which is the brainchild of City Councilor Melvin Torralba.
Malanog further said that Torralba is in the United States right now as the latter is looking for help for the victims of the fire.
The priest also said that several bands will be performing at the Bohol Cultural Center on Jan. 7, 2023 and the proceeds of the concert shall be used to help the needs of the fire victims.
The concert will start at around 1 pm and IS expected to run for 12 hours, according to the priest.
Malanog further said that the parish already provided some help to the fire victims who are also members of the parish.
One survivor of the fire named Greaymar Manzano, an altar boy was advised by the priest to continue with his service to the Parish as an altar boy.
To recall, a huge fire affected about 75 families along Gallares street in Poblacion 2 on Dec. 23, 2022 and fire probers are still determining the cause of the fire.
