Road concreting projects get underway in Tagb

Another road concreting project along Belderol street (from Lamdagan to Graham Avenue) nears completion as the City Engineering Office (CEO) rushes with its day-to-day tasks.

City Engineer Teodoro Estoque said this 2023, major ticket projects are also lined up for completion.

Also in the pipeline are the on-going road concreting projects on the road going to the Evacuation Center in Brgy. Dampas and at M. Torralba Street, from G. Visarra to J. A. Clarin Street.

Big projects such as the Legislative Building, Tagbilaran City Coliseum, and Tenement Housing are also lined up for 2023.

Several multi-purpose covered courts were also turned over in 2022 such as the covered courts in Barangay Ubujan, San Isidro Elementary School, and the flooring in Tagbilaran City Science High School Covered Court.

Around 46 accredited urban poor organizations in Tagbilaran City joined together as an act of solidarity in advancing the ideals of the organization on Dec. 26, 2022.

City Mayor Jane Yap joined them and thanked the commitment and support of the entire organization to her administration.

“Celebrating Christmas in the past two years have been challenging. Tonight, I will contribute P100,000 to make your celebration more joyous and meaningful. Furthermore, we have provided raffle prizes. Let’s continue to strengthen our unity and cooperation. As one of our partners in development, we will always be ready to serve you,”

Yap said.

The event started with a Thanksgiving Mass followed by a string of messages from the Tagbilaran Urban Poor Organization (TAUPO) President Marissa Remolador and Cong. Edgar Chatto.

After dinner, all the organizations showcased their talents in various categories, Dayegon, Modern Dance, Pastores, Folk Dance, and Pop Song. City Mayor Jane Yap raffled off P30,000 cash and electric appliances such as gas range, electric fan, rice cooker, stove, and refrigerator.

The City Government has been in constant pursuit to address the growing problems of the urban poor.
