Body found dead in Calape creek

The body of a young female was reportedly found dead in a creek in barangay Bonbon, Calape town on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023.

Reports indicate that the body belonged to Debraliz Castro of barangay Sta. Cruz, Calape.

It was added in the report that Castro allegedly sufferred from a mental ailment.

The police said that they responded to a report that a dead body was found in a creek.

The municipal health officer, Dr. Manuel Relampagos III, examined the dead body and noticed no signs of foul play. The doctor also declared drowning as the cause of death.

The incident came about as Bohol was battered by heavy rains due to a low pressure area where at least 600 families were evacuated to safety.

There have been several warnings issued to Boholanos about severe rainfall that could lead to flooding and landslides.
