<strong>Foreigner meets accident, dies</strong>

A male foreigner died as a result of an accident after the vehicle he was driving bumped at a post at purok 6 in brgy. Songclan, Dauis around early Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023.

The foreigner was identified as a certain Soren Paulsen, 41, temporarily residing at

brgy. Doljo, Panglao.

According to the police, the foreigner was driving a motorcycle from Tagbilaran City and travelling to Dauis. Apparently, the foreigner made a wrong move at the curved portion of purok 6, barangay Songculan where the victim bumped at a post.

It was alleged that the foreigner was intoxicated while driving, reports say.

The foreigner was rescued by emergency responders and was brought to a nearby hospital but unfortunately, the victim died due to the severity of the injuries.

In the past few months, the police saw an increase in the number of road accidents in Bohol.

Bohol Police Provincial Office spokesperson Lt. Col. Joseph Berondo ON several occasions reiterated that the police have been making an effort to tell the public to observe safety while driving.
