Police report newly-born infant found dead in Dauis

Police in Dauis confirmed that a newly-born infant was found dead off the shores of the town.

According to Cpl. Ged Perocho, the police station was informed that the infant was found off the shores of purok 1, barangay Poblacion, Dauis town around 8 am of Jan. 27, 2023.

The infant was found lifeless on the shoreline behind a bakery in Poblacion, Dauis.

Perocho said the infant was completely bare and there was no indicator about the infant’s identity.

Perocho said the estimated age of the infant is about 2 days.

Perocho said that members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) were summoned to conduct an immediate investigation as the infant was no longer responsive.

“Nagtawag pa mi ug SOCO aron ma-examine ang patay nga lawas,” Perocho said.

The police will conduct further investigation on the matter.
