Mayor Jane bares city coliseum’s construction now underway

Mayor Jane Yap bared that the construction of the Tagbilaran City Coliseum in barangay Dampas is now underway and soon will become the mecca for sports, entertainment and conventions here in the province.

She made the declaration during her regular interview over dyTR-AM ‘s “Open Forum, Bukas nga Panangsultihay” on Jan. 27, 2023 hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.

The mayor said the coliseum will have a capacity of 10,000 persons and will provide a fitting venue for events in the capital city of Bohol.

The mayor sees the coliseum as a way to help the economy of the city as people who will use the said facility will also patronize other businesses in Tagbilaran like hotels and restaurants.

The project is a product of the cooperation of local and national government agencies.

Mayor Jane Yap said during the interview: “Ug naay mo convention dire, nga taga laing lugar mopalit man gyud sila sa Tagbilaran ug matulog man gyud na sa Tagbilaran ug mokaon sa Tagbilaran so buhi gyud kaayo ang atong ekonomiya.”

The coliseum will help position the province as a major meeting, incentive, convention and events (MICE) venue in the country, the mayor added.

Aside from the coliseum other big ticket projects being planned by the local government unit of Tagbilaran are the City Mega Health Center for public health, and a dialysis center, the mayor bared.
