The Provincial Health Office (PHO) will conduct a surveillance among the top 10 local government units (LGU) with high number of cases of dengue fever in 2022.

The surveillance will gather data in order to find out how to control the high number of dengue cases in these areas.

The areas with high incidence of dengue are at risk of experiencing disease outbreaks, reports mention.

The top 10 LGUs with high dengue cases in 2022 based on PHO data are Talibon, Tagbilaran City, Anda, Loon, Jagna, Clarin, Inabanga, Dauis, Baclayon and Candijay.

The information gathered by the PHO teams shall be used to formulate a strategy in order to keep the dengue cases at a manageable level, reports say.

The dengue fever is a viral disease caused by a mosquito bite. It is fatal if medical attention gets delayed.

Health authorities advocate the strategy of getting rid of mosquitos as a way to prevent the spread of the disease, especially among children.
