Buenavista celebrates 63rd year founding anniversary

The town of Buenavista celebrated its 63rd year foundation anniversary yesterday, Feb. 11, 2023, in simple ceremonies.

The highlight of the event was the delivery of the State of the Municipality Address by the town’s mayor, Hon. Dave Duallo.

In his address, Duallo focused on the recovery efforts of the town impacted heavily by the Coronavirus disease (Covid) pandemic and the onslaught of typhoon Odette in 2021.

He also mentioned the key programs of the town government especially on the delivery of basic services.

Several key figures were on hand during Duallo’s delivery of his speech. The speech outlined the present and the future of the town nestled in the northern part of the island province of Bohol.

There was a live band that performed at the Food Park last night where Boholano composer and performer Joseph Gara graced the event and entertained the people of the town.

Duallo listed several activities to celebrate the foundation of the town that started on Jan. 31, 2023 and ended yesterday, Feb. 11, 2023.

One of the highlights of the foundation anniversary celebrations is the opening of the Food Park at the town center, Duallo said. The Food Park is an area designated for the display and selling of food items. In October 2022, the town also had a Food Park installed during the celebration of the town fiesta.

There are plenty of reasons for Buenavista to celebrate, as the town is gearing up for better times in the area of agriculture. Duallo has been focused on providing the needed support to the town’s farmers.

Moreover, education in Buenavista is at an all-time high with the Buenavista Community College providing local students the opportunity to gain a college diploma.
