Tagbilaran City mayor Jane Yap met with some top officials of the SM group in the capital city on Feb. 23, 2023.
Mayor Jane Yap met with Steven Tan and the two, during a meeting in Manila, discussed a potential partnership regarding a livelihood project for some of the city’s residents and the progress of the construction of the SM Mall in the city.
Other persons who attended the said meeting were Bien Mateo, Senior Vice-President SM Supermalls and Maica Teves, Executive Director of Spark Philippines, and designer Zarah Juan, reports say.
This was the news relayed by former mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap, who substituted for his wife during the regular interview over “Open Forum, Bukas nga Panagsultihay” on Feb. 24, 2023, hosted by Chandymar Araneta-Batoy.
The SM Foundation has been supportive of endeavors such as livelihood programs especially in provinces like Bohol.
The said foundation has been helping the city by way of distributing aid such as food packs for the city residents after the onslaught of typhoon Odette, Baba Yap said.
According to Baba Yap, the mayor and SM officials discussed the construction of the future SM Tagbilaran.
