Mga Lugpong sa Panâ

(Terms for Bow and Arrow)

Pasiuna

Usa sa labing karaan nga hinagiban sa tawo mao ang panâ. Sa Ininglis gitawag kini og bow and arrow. Apan ang Sinugboanón adunay lahî nga pulong alang sa bow (busog) ug arrow (udyóng).

Tungod sa ka karáan sa panâ, talagsa na lang ang mogamit niini isip hinagiban ug nag-anám pagkahanaw ang mga lugpong alang sa panâ. 

Karong panahona, tungod kay ang gitudlo sa tulunghaán mao man ang pinulongan nga Ininglis, hilang na lang ang tawo nga imong hikaplagan nga nahibalo pa sa mga pulong Binisayâ alang sa hinagiban nga panâ ug susama nga hinagiban.

Atong tun-an ang mga lugpong sa panâ ug ubang mga hinagiban nga susama sa panâ.

Mga Lugpong

1. arowhead shaped – malasaláit

2. arrow case (quiver) – talangán, lakayán

3. arrow feather (arrow fin) – gapasán, dátol, kalwáy

4. arrow fin (arrow tail) – daítol, gapasán

5. arrow line (as used in drawings) – libatóg, látib. Syn. bádlis, giyon

6. arrow tail (arrow fin) – gapasán, daítol

7. arrow¹ (slender shaft) – udyong, kalawáy, kálway

8. arrow² (with string for recovery) – láis

9. arrowhead – salaít. Syn. pinalingkod

10. arrow-sight (to align the target) – tangtangáy

11. bow and arrow-panâ. [bow = busóg; arrow = udyong]

12. bow¹ (composite or double curvature bow) – bulawóg

13. bow² (of arrow)- busóg, bulawóg

14. bowman (archer) – tigpaná, mamanday

15. bowstring (string of a bow for firing an arrow) – mádlos, dúlos

16. catapult (the equipment) – baláng, sáplong. Syn. balatik

17. crossbow¹ (bow fixed to a frame) – bátik, balátik. Syn. balista (Sp.)

18. crossbow² (the bow of a crossbow) – bawganán

19. crossbow³ (to arm a crossbow with an arrow) – dángat. Syn. táod, tárì

20. crossbow⁴ (toy crossbow) – sibád

21. draw (pull the bowstring) – bingat

22. imbed (stick into; penetrate) – táop, patangág

23. javelin (short lance) – alampalók

24. lance head (metal tip of lance) – budyák. Syn. saláit

25. lance¹ (made of bamboo) – hagós

26. lance² (non-metallic tip) – sinampakan

27. lance³ (small lance for spearing fish) – súob

28. lance⁴ (spear-like weapon) – tumbák. Syn. bídyo, bángkaw

29. lance⁵ (two-pronged lance) – sinayak

30. notch¹ (an indentation) – tíbhang, tákdang

31. notch² (for tying firmly as arrowhead on the shaft) – sanggát

32. put an arrow on the bow – sákdà, táod, tárì

33. shoot from a crossbow – talábas

4. speared (pierced) – dúslak, túksok, túsak, túslak, túsok

5. spearfish (Indo-pacific blue marlin fish) – malasugi

6. spearhead¹ (at the front) – abánte (Sp.), uná, mag-uná, mangúlo

7. spearhead² (tip of a spear) – panálang, saláit

8. womera (a device for throwing javelins, spears, etc.) – palantig
