Rep. Edgar Chatto

Bohol Congressman Edgar Chatto welcomed the League of Vice Governors of the Philippines (LVGP) for holding their 92nd assembly in Bohol on March 2-4, 2023.

Chatto, who represents the first legislative district of Bohol, was a former national president of the LVGP and a founding secretary general of the Union of Local Authorities in the Philippines (ULAP).

Chatto said he was honored to host his fellow vice governors in his home province and share with them some of his initiatives when he was leading the LVGP. He said he coined the name ULAP, which is the umbrella organization of local government leagues, and led the establishment of its national office, staff and service vehicle.

He also said that during his term as LVGP president, he launched out-of-town general assembly meetings and capacity development activities for vice governors. He also initiated the sharing of vital local measures like the Bohol Environment Code to all provinces and codification program of local legislations.

The current LVGP president is Laguna Vice Governor Katherine Agapay, who thanked Chatto for his hospitality and support. She said that Bohol is an ideal venue for their assembly as it showcases good governance and sustainable development.

The LVGP is composed of 81 vice governors from all provinces in the country. It aims to promote cooperation, coordination and collaboration among its members and other local government units.
