Loon, Bohol – Two suspected drug pushers were arrested by police in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Catagbacan Handig, Loon, Bohol on Saturday night.
The suspects were identified as alias “Jeff”, 24, and alias “JR”, 27, both residents of Barangay Catmonan, Calape, Bohol.
According to PCPT Amelito Melendres Melloria, chief of Loon Municipal Police Station (MPS), the operatives of Loon Municipal Drug Enforcement Team (MDET) seized about five grams of shabu worth P34,000 from the suspects.
Melloria said that the operation was conducted at around 11:00 PM on March 11, 2023 at Barangay Song-on, Loon, Bohol after a tip-off from a confidential informant.
He added that aside from the shabu, the police also recovered a wallet, a cigarette case, a cellphone, a motorcycle and the marked money used in the transaction.
The suspects are now detained at the Loon MPS custodial facility while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against them.
Melloria said that Loon MPS will continue to intensify its campaign against illegal drugs and arrest those involved in drug activities.
He also appealed to the public to support and cooperate with the police in their anti-drug efforts.
“We will continue our campaign against illegal drugs and there is no place for drug users and pushers here in our beloved town of Loon which is peaceful and hospitable,” Melloria said. (BT)
