Saulog Tagbilaran 2023 officially opened during during activities held at the City Friendship Park on March 16, commemorating the 458th Blood Compact Anniversary with Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Cajes-Yap leading all the activities.
As the event marks its 10th year anniversary, the launch of Saulog Tagbilaran 2023 proved to be successful.
Starting all activities of the day, Bishop Uy officiated a Holy Mass at the St. Joseph’s Cathedral which was attended by all the department heads and employees of the City Government of Tagbilaran as well as students of Tagbilaran City College.
During the program launch itself, there was a presentation by the Lungsoranon Performing Arts Ensemble to the delight of the viewing public as the former reenacted the Blood Compact between Rajah Sikatuna and Miguel Lopez de Legazpi featuring the Saulog jingle.
This was followed by the wreath laying and floral dedication ceremonies for the 458th Blood Compact Anniversary led by Mayor Yap with Dept. of Tourism (DOT) Asst. Secretary Christopher Morales, Vice Mayor Adam Jala, Tagbilaran Bishop Alberto Uy, Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado represented by PA Aster Caberte, Cong. Edgar Chatto, and Vice Gov. Dionisio Victor Balite represented by Mr. DJ Balite and FG John Geesnell Yap II.
