<strong>UB prexy assumes post as PACU board trustee, corporate treasurer</strong>

Dr. Victoriano B. Tirol, III, the President of the University of Bohol, has formally assumed the post as a member of the Board of Trustees and corporate treasurer of the Executive Committee of the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU). The formal installation rites were held recently at Fili Hotel NUSTAR Resort and Casino, Kawit Island, South Road Properties, Cebu City.

Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez, Congressman of the Third District of Negros Occidental, officially installed the new Board of Trustees for Academic Year 2022-2024. The new BOT members representing the different regions of the Philippines are:

– National Capital Region- Rev. Fr. Marcelo V. Manimtin CM, President – Adamson University

– Dr. Ma. Cristina D. Padolina, President – Centro Escolar University

– Dr. Michael M. Alba , President – Far Eastern University

– Dr. Vicente K. Fabella, President – Jose Rizal University

– Dr. Reynaldo B. Vea, President – Mapua University

– Dr. Caroline Marian S. Enriquez, President – Our Lady of Fatima University

– Mr. Marco Alfredo M. Benitez, President – Philippine Women’s University

– Dr. Elizabeth Quirino-Lahoz, President – Technological Institute of the Philippines

– Dr. Zosimo M. Battad, President – University of the East.

For Luzon: Dr. Patricia Bustos-Lagunda, President – Baliuag University, Dr. Peter P. Laurel, President – Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas, Pres. Naila E. Leveriza, President – Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, Dr. Ma. Socorro M. Eala, President – San Pablo Colleges, Dr. Zorba Bnn R. Bautista, University of Baguio, Dr. Anthony Jose M. Tamayo, President – University of Perpetual Help – Molino.

For Visayas: Dr. Victoriano B. Tirol, III, President – University of Bohol, Engr. Bernard Nicolas E. Villamor, President, Cebu Institute Technology– University, Atty. Augusto W. Go, President, University of Cebu, and Atty. Christopher A. Tan, President, University of Iloilo.

For Mindanao: Dr. Laurice Faye R. Juarez, President, Capitol University, Dr. Karen Feliciano De Leon, President – Misamis University, Dr. Leo Tereso A. Magno, President – Rizal Memorial College, and Dr. Guillermo P. Torres, Jr., President – University of Mindanao.

On the same occasion, the officers of the Executive Committee were sworn to office before Director Dr. Karol Mark Yee, Executive Director and PACU Commissioner, Education Committee 2 (EDCOM). The new officers are:

– Engr. Bernard Nicolas E. Villamor – President

– Mr. Marco Alfredo M. Benitez – 1st Vice President

– Ms. Laurice Faye R. Juarez – 2nd Vice President

– Dr. Ma. Socorro M. Eala – Corporate Secretary

– Dr. Victoriano B. Tirol, III – Corporate Treasurer

The following are the Vice Presidents for the different regions of the Philippines:

– Dr. Michael M. Alba – Vice President for National Capitol Region

– Dr. Patricia Bustos-Lagunda – Vice President for Luzon

– Atty. Augusto W. Go – Vice President for Visayas

– Dr. Guillermo P. Torres, Jr. – Vice President for Mindanao.

Also in attendance during the installation ceremony was Atty. Joseph Noel Estrada, EDCOM Legal Officer.

For the past 90 years, the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU) has continued to spearhead nation-building through transformative private higher education programs. It remains committed to providing and promoting excellence in the Philippines’ private education sector by advancing best practices collaboration, the co-production of knowledge, and peer support networks to confront the challenges posed by a constantly shifting educational landscape.
