Balilihan Mayor Alarmed Over Water Pipe Damage

Balilihan Mayor Pureza Chatto has urged the public to help protect their waterworks by not destroying the town’s water pipes.

The message was issued after reports surfaced that water pipes in the town were being sabotaged.

She said these pipes are part of the town’s P95-million nationally funded project to provide water to all barangays.

The mayor also requested that any incidents of intentional damage be reported to the police so that these can be investigated, and suspects be charged in court.

Recently, the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) has ruled in favor of the local government unit (LGU) of Balilihan, Bohol for its water permit application dealing a heavy blow on Richli Water Corporation’s exclusive plan to use the town’s Bugwak Spring for commercial and for-profit purposes.
