Former Bohol Governor Art Yap wrote a short reflection on his Facebook page after commemorating Good Friday and before celebrating Easter Sunday.
In his post, he expressed his gratitude for his family and his father who is 90 years old and remains strong because of God’s grace.
He noted about how Holy Saturday is a precious day for him because of its silence and how it made him reflect on what he has lost and what has remained in his life.
He mentioned that he sees a great hope that he will continue to serve and that serving “our fellowmen does not depend on any position or title but on continuing “our work together with the hope that it will benefit many and not just a few.”
Atty. Yap also mentioned that he will continue his work as a lawyer and in agriculture and hopes to share this with everyone in the future.
In the same post, Yap expressed his hope that despite the challenges “we are facing now, we will still think about the many blessings we have received through our families and friends… gift of time, care and love from our loved ones and even from strangers.”
He emphasized that “we have been blessed and we should be grateful.” Therefore, he encouraged us to share these blessings with others through kind words and deeds, by visiting the sick and helping those in need.
He also urged Boholanos to be patient, show kindness and understanding to each other in their respective communities.
Yap’s statement was a reminder that even in difficult times, there are still things to be thankful for. “By focusing on the positive aspects of our lives and sharing our blessings with others, we can help make the world a better place.”
Yap concluded his statement by saying that he misses everyone in Bohol and hopes that they are doing well. He also called on everyone to pray to God Almighty and “our beloved province of Bohol.”
