ARDMC, Bohol Bee Farm partner to promote environmental preservation, economic activity

The Abatan River Development Management Council (ARDMC) and Bohol Bee Farm
have partnered to open The Buzzz Cafe at the Abatan River Main Village Center.
The ARDMC aims to preserve the biodiversity-rich Abatan River while generating
economic activity and job opportunities through tourism and cultural development.
The Community Life Tour is a concept that supports this vision and was inaugurated in
2010 with the support of the Department of Tourism (DOT) with then Sec. Ace Durano
and under the management of PROCESS Bohol, Inc. headed by Emilia Roslinda.
The partnership between ARDMC municipalities of Antequera, Balilihan, Catigbian,
Cortes, and Maribojoc with the Bohol Bee Farm can help bring this vision for Abatan to
life.
Under the setup, LGU Cortes being the host municipality will manage the Abatan River
Community Life Tour (ARCLT) to include the Main Village Center and the river activities,
adopting as model the management framework of the Albur Cluster Sanitary Landfill.
The Buzzz Cafe in the main village center will promote unique food offerings of the
ARDMC towns while complementing popular activities in the Abatan tours such as river
cruise, paddling, kayaking, bird and firefly watching for a complete experience.
The April 26 grand opening program was graced by Bohol First Rep. Edgar Chatto who
called the partnership a breakthrough.
Provincial officials led by Governor Aris Aumentado with First Lady and Cong. Van-van
Aumentado as well as mayors and vice mayors of the ARDMC member municipalities
were present during the grand opening.
