Bohol Province ends up in 6th place in CVIRAA

The Provincial Government of Bohol announced that Bohol ranked sixth in the
recently-concluded 2023 Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA)
Sports Meet held in Carcar City in Cebu.
The provincial delegation (excluding Tagbilaran City), consisting of officials, athletes,
and coaches from DepEd Bohol, bagged 25 gold, 26 silver, and 46 bronze, with a
total of 97 medals.
This year’s CVIRAA participation of DepEd Bohol allegedly received financial
support from the Provincial Government of Bohol in the amount of 16 million pesos.
But according to athletes and parents, Bohol delegates allegedly did not receive a
single centavo unlike delegates from Tagbilaran City who received P3,200 each from
Mayor Jane Yap as their personal allowance.
The Bohol athletes and their families, athletes, coaches, and DepEd Bohol were led
by Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Evangel Luminarias.
