A Question & Answer Session
with Dr. Bryan Cepedoza

(Part 6)

The Bohol Tribune (TBT): I wish to congratulate you,
Dr. Bryan because we have been receiving positive
feedback regarding our interview with you on air and you
article in this paper. In fact one listenr/reader said that
he is learning a lot from our conversation and that he is
compiling all the pages of the paper bearing your article.
Thank you, Dr. Bryan, for the big help and the free
service you are rendering to our radio audience and our
newspaper readers.
Dr. Bryan Cepedoza (DBC): You are welcome, Ma’am.
TBT: In this article, we will discuss what they call as the
common pulmonary diseases. First of all, what is meant
by pulmonary disease?
DBC: In general, a pulmonary disease is a type of
disease that affects the lungs and other parts of the
respiratory system. This may be caused by infection, by

smoking tobacco, or by breathing in secondhand
tobacco smoke or other forms of air pollution.
The Bohol Tribune (TBT): To continue, what are the
most common causes of pulmonary diseases?
Dr. Bryan Cepedoza (DBC: There are many factors
causing pulmonary diseases. For example, it is very
common here in our country that people have
tuberculosis (TB), pneumonia, and the recent viral
infection resulting to Covid 19. There are also other
common causes of pulmonary problems. The dust
around us is one. The dust can cause a chronic infection
or irritation in our lungs. There is also a kind of
pulmonary disease caused by smoking. The pollution in
our environment could also lead to problems in our
lungs. We have to remember that even building fire in
our dirty kitchen could contribute to pulmonary problems
especially when you inhale the smoke from the fire you
have built.
TBT: Is that so?
DBC: Yes, and these infections that lead to our
pulmonary problems could make us become weak.
These irritations in our lungs could really make us weak,
may be not immediately today, but in the years to come.
Smokiing is not really good. Even the vape is not
advisable.
TBT: What is vape?

DBC: Vape means to inhale and exhale vapor
containing nicotine and flavoring produced by a devise
designed for this purpose. They say that vape is better
than cigarette smoking. I don’t believe in this.
TBT: Is vaping and cigarette smoking the same, Dr.
Bryan?
