Solar power plant proposed in Ubay town

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bohol has discussed the proposed solar power
plant by Ignis Energia, which presented the project study to the board last week.
The plant will be built in barangay Imelda, Ubay town and will have a capacity of 155
Megawatts.
The company said that if the project is completed, it would only collect about P3 plus
per kilowatt hour when compared to P16.00 to P18.00 khw imposed by local
distribution utilities in Bohol.
The incumbent administration has been receiving proposals of power supply from
various firms.
San Miguel Corporation is also planning to put up a Solar Power Plant here while the
Shanghai Electric Wind Power Group is interested in building wind mills in eastern
part of Bohol.
The Petro Green Energy Corporation has groundbreak the 25-MW solar project in
barangay San Vicente, Dagohoy town sometime last year.
