Jinju, South Korea – The Provincial Government of Bohol extends its congratulations to Boholano weightlifter Vanessa Sarno for her outstanding performance in the 2023 Asian Weightlifting Championships.
The 19-year-old Dauis native earned three silver medals in the women’s 71kg division, completing a triple silver haul for the Philippines in snatch, clean and jerk, and total.
Sarno’s impressive performance earned her the second spot overall behind China’s Liao Guifang.
“Congratulations, Vanessa! The whole Province is proud of your tremendous accomplishment,” said a spokesperson for the Provincial Government of Bohol.
Sarno’s success at the Asian Weightlifting Championships is a testament to her hard work and dedication to her sport, the Capitol noted.
The people of Bohol and the Philippines are proud to have such a talented athlete representing them on the international stage, the Capitol said.
