CHED Opens Scholarship Program for 2023 to Incoming College Freshmen

The Commission of Higher Education (CHED) has announced the opening of its scholarship program for 2023.

The program is aimed at making tertiary education more accessible and inclusive to Filipinos, particularly those who are underprivileged.

According to CHED’s website, qualified applicants must be incoming college freshmen who are enrolled or planning to enroll in any of the CHED priority courses as per CMO No. 1 s. 2104. Successful applicants will receive financial assistance ranging from 15,000 to 30,000 pesos per semester, depending on the program for which they qualify.

This initiative is in line with CHED’s mission to provide equal opportunities for education to all Filipinos.

As Horace Mann famously said in 1848, “Education, then, beyond all other divides of human origin, is a great equalizer of conditions of men—the balance wheel of the social machinery.”

For more information on the application process and requirements, interested individuals are encouraged to visit the CHED website.
