Gallares Cortes to set standard for quality health caredelivery

Macuno said during a project inspection with Cong. Edgar
Chatto last April 29, 2023.
The multi-speciality medical complex in Cortes is slated to be
completed this year as far as infrastructure is concerned.
Preparations are also ongoing so that it can start to operate
once it is completed, according to Macuno.
Procurement is underway and the project team is going through
the licensing application, Macuno relayed, adding that they are
eyeing for Level 2 accreditation for 100 beds by 2024. They will
also adopt a gradual yearly shift until they reach 400-bed
capacity by 2026.
In a presentation by the Project Team, they are utilizing a
focused targeting system with 80% completion of Building A
and B which will house the Outpatient Department, Emergency
Rooms, Operating Rooms, Delivery Rooms, Intensive Care
Unit, room med for the advanced sterilization og medical
equipment and devices; and radiology, pharmacy, medical
records, laboratory, internal medicine and surgical wards,
single occupancy rooms; respectively.
Building C and site development is at 40% completion which
includes engineering, laundry, storage, administrative,
executive office, dietary department spaces.
Cardiac catheterization, cancer, renal care are among
specializations the hospital will provide.
Phase 3 is also is being planned for a Behavioral and Mental
Care Facility and a Research Institute for Tropical Medicine
(RITM).
Gallares Cortes is certainly trailblazing with some bills now in
Congress to establish Specialty Hospitals in other parts of the
country, Chatto said, whose work for the modernization of

health care delivery in the province began when he was then
governor.
Cortes Mayor Iven Lim also joined the meeting for project
updates along with Phase 1 and Phase 2 contractors.
