Vanessa Sarno, a weightlifter from Bohol, has won her second gold medal at the 2023 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Phnom Pehn, Cambodia.

She successfully defended her title in the Women’s 71kg division, which she first won during her debut at the Hanoi 2021 SEA Games.

The 19-year-old athlete broke her previous record of 104kg by lifting 105kg in the snatch to win the competition.

This outstanding performance has earned her the title of champion for the Women’s 71kg division once again.

The entire Province of Bohol is proud of Vanessa for representing our country so well at the 2023 SEA Games, a statement from Capitol said.
