Balilihan Water Sources Pass Bacteriological Tests

Balilihan, Bohol – The results of the re-checked water samples from various water
sources in Balilihan have been released, Balilihan Mayor Pureza Veloso-Chatto has
announced.
The sources tested include Bugwak spring, Del Carmen Weste, Del Carmen Sur,
Sagasa, Sal ing and Del Rosario in Hanopol Balilihan Bohol.
The tests were conducted at the new water testing laboratory in HNU Tagbilaran
City, which is accredited by the Department of Health (DOH).
The laboratory used a state-of-the-art Membrane Filtration Technique to determine
the physical, chemical and bacteriological properties of the water samples. They also
tested for E. coli, which only they can do in Bohol.
The water samples were brought to the HNU lab by personnel from the Provincial
Health Office (PHO), including Prov. Sanitary Engr. Mam Susie Udtujan, S.i.Lyndel
Grado and two sanitary inspectors of the PHO. They were accompanied by Mho
sanitary inspector Rhey Robante and water works supervisor Engr. Am Balio.
According to Kagawad Jun Lorenzo Baliong Jr., Chairman of the Committee on
Waterworks, all of the water sources passed the tests for Total coliform, Fecal
coliform and E. coli.
Baliong thanked everyone involved in the testing process and encouraged continued
cooperation.
This is good news for the people of Balilihan and the whole country, Mayor Chatto
said.
The successful test results mean that the water from these sources is safe for
consumption, the Mayor added.
