Saulog sa Sandugo bags silver in Korean festival

The Saulog sa Sandugo bagged the Silver Award under the Multi-Cultural Overseas
Category during the Powerful Deagu Festival in Deagu, South Korea held on May
13-14, 2023.
The Saulog sa Sandugo team representing Tagbilaran City and the Province of
Bohol joined 80 other local and international groups in the said festival.
Adorned in colorful costumes and dancing to the festive beat, the performers
showcased their rich culture and history through the Saulog sa Sandugo Festival
performance, impressing the judges and spectators.
The delegation was led by Tagbilaran City Administrator Cathy Torremocha; Alexis
Cadeliña of the City Events, Culture, and Arts Office; and Emerson Pinos of the
Bohol Center for Culture and Arts Development, who promoted Tagbilaran City and
Bohol in South Korea.
“This is our first time to join this competition, but our delegation came home with an
award competing against other countries. I am proud of this accomplishment. This is
an international cultural exposure and an opportunity to showcase our local festivals
to the world,” said Tagbilaran Mayor Jane Yap.
The Powerful Deagu Festival is one of South Korea’s largest cultural festivals,
featuring various events, performances, and competitions. The Multi-Cultural

and preserving their cultural heritage while showcasing it to the world.
The City Government of Tagbilaran is looking forward to more international cultural
