19-Year-Old Dead, 2 Injured in Motorcycle Accident

Panglao, Bohol – A 19-year-old man was killed and two others were injured after a collision between two motorcycles on a National Highway in Panglao, Bohol on Sunday night.

The victim was identified as Jose Calupe, Jr., from the town of Balilihan. He was rushed to the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center in Tagbilaran but died while receiving emergency medical aid.

The other two people involved in the accident, Angelica Dumasin, 23, and Charlie Baylosis, 24, were both taken to the same hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Senior Master Sgt. Armand Akil of the Panglao Police Station said the accident happened at around 11:00 p.m. in Barangay Lourdes. Calupe was driving his motorcycle south when he suddenly turned into the northbound lane and collided with Dumasin’s motorcycle.

Akil said Calupe was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and that his motorcycle did not have its headlights on. Dumasin and Baylosis were both wearing helmets.

The police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
