Tagbilaran City holds Annual Investment Program Formulation workshop for barangay officials

In an effort to empower barangay officials for local development, the City Government of Tagbilaran City conducted the 2024 Annual Investment Program (AIP) Formulation Workshop on June 7-8, 2023 at Jj’s Seafood Village, Tagbilaran City.

The workshop serves as a platform for barangay officials to actively participate in the planning and formulation of the AIP, a vital tool in the guiding of allocation of resources and the prioritizing of development projects at the barangay level.

The event commenced with a ceremony, graced by city mayor Jane Yap, who emphasized the importance of the AIP in achieving the city’s overall development goals.

The AIP serves as a roadmap for barangays, guiding them in making informed decisions and prioritizing key development projects that will directly benefit Tagbilaranons.

Mayor Yap also extended her gratitude to the workshop participants for their dedication and commitment to driving local development.

“The AIP Formulation Workshop reflects our collective efforts to build stronger barangays and ensure sustainable progress. I commend our barangay officials for their active participation and commitment to making a positive impact on our people and Tagbilaran City in general,” Mayor Yap stressed.

Dr. Rosalinda Paredes, Tagbilaran City Governance Coordinator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through its Cities for Enhanced Governance and Engagement (CHANGE) Project, facilitated the two-day workshop.

Engr. Estella Margate, OIC of the City Planning and Development Office gave a briefer on AIP while City Budget Officer Marysol Perocho explained the preparation of the different barangay budget forms.  Department of the Interior and Local Government City Local Government Operations Officer Juliet Olalo presented the seal of good local governance.

Other resource speakers included City Administrator Cathelyn Torremocha, City General Services Officer Dr. Chris John Rener Torralba, City Accountant Eleanor Beniga, SP Secretary Lynneth Mae Ibba, Barangay Affairs and Constituency Unit Head Alvin Acuzar and Engr. Raul Aparicio II of the Tagbilaran City Environment and Natural Resources Office.
