Dauis mayor’s driver arrested for selling shabu; Bullendenies suspect’s work link

The driver of Dauis Mayor Roman “Amoi” Bullen was arrested
by the Panglao Municipal Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit
on June 13 for selling suspected drugs.
Police Major Andie Corpus, chief of the Panglao Municipal
Police Station, identified the suspect as Joey Atacador, 32, a
job order casual employee of the Local Government Unit of
Dauis. Atacador is from Molicay, Ozamis City, Misamis
Occidental, and lives in Purok 7, Tinago, Dauis, Bohol.
Corpus said that Atacador was arrested in a buy-bust operation
in Barangay Poblacion, Panglao.
He was caught selling 10 grams of suspected shabu, with a
standard drug price of P68,000.00.
Atacador has been the driver of Mayor Bullen since he took
office on July 1, 2022.
Corpus said that Atacador was identified as a Street Level
Individual (SLI) drug watchlist in the Panglao Municipal Police
Station.

The Panglao Police is set to charge Atacador with violation of
Section 5 and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or
the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Following the arrest, Mayor Bullen has released a statement on
the arrest, denying Atacador as his driver.
He said the suspect was working as casual employee of Dauis
LGU.
